Idaho does not have a state business
license nor does the state require occupational licenses for every
type of business. To find out
if your specific business activity requires an occupational license or is regulated in
some way, visit the Business Wizard by clicking
on the link to the left. After you answer five questions, you will receive
a customized checklist of agencies you need to
contact and links to their Web sites.

businesses, professions, products and services currently listed in the

City and County Business Licenses: In addition to the
licensing
requirements listed in the
Business Wizard, your business may be regulated by city and/or county laws
specific to the area where you are doing business. Contact your
local City or County Clerk or Recorder's office to find out if you need a
local business license or permits. To find contact information for
your city clerk's office check your local phone book or click here: City
Clerks. To locate your county clerk
or recorder's office visit http://www.idahovotes.gov/Clerk.htm
and choose the appropriate county.
Taxes: Most businesses must
pay taxes, including city, county, state, and federal taxes. Visit
the taxes section of this site to learn more about
the taxes your business may need to pay. You will also find a tax
calendar listing the dates payments are due.
